im amazed by the clarity of the sbds on the archive, but the lack of crowd interaction robs some recordings of a vital dimension of the grateful dead show experience... on the other hand i'm spoiled by the spds and so only the best aud recordings satisfy my elitist sound taste so...what are some favorite matrix shows on the archive? (or else really kickass audience tapes)

MY MAN, i am about to make your day if you aint heard this. i have cited this here before (sue me) but this is one of the all time hottest dead RECORDINGS or should i say PRESENTATIONS of the dead/crowd interaction. and just a HOT HOT HOT second set opener....how much F%%kin fun are those people having????

when the matrix kicks in.....it is a very perfect moment

[...]St Stephen, 1976

oh and the rest of the show is, how do they say, THE TITS? (never liked that expression....but it is)

Arrows: did you get a chance to listen to the 2nd of the 1976 Orpheum show (July 18)? You know, the one with all the arrows:

I believe there are 1970 audience tapes that haven't surfaced yet.

Tapes of shows that otherwise do not circulate at this time.

Stay tuned, I'm working on it... slowly.

I was at 3 1970 Fillmore West shows for which nothing or very little is currently available to stream.

But I saw someone taping at least one of those shows.

He went to my high school... I never did get his name. He's not in the yearbook of my graduating year ('71) so my main task is to research a copy of the 1970 Lowell High yearbook, which I do not have.

Haven't seen one pop up on ebay.
Do I have to truck down to the school library and check it out?

Looks like I'll have to.

....speaking of the new uploaded auds, I wonder why they're all 1985. Not that any of you can answer, but it seems peculiar.
